About Fein Violins
Fein Violins has served professionals and students since 1982 with superior service and an excellent selection
of fine violins, fine violas, and fine cellos.
We are a stringed instrument shop specializing in handmade violins, violas, cellos, and bows. Our violin shop is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and our stringed instruments are played by musicians all around the United States, Europe, Asia, Canada, Central America, and South America.
Andrew Fein, the violin maker and owner of Fein Violins, has over 30 years of experience as a luthier. All of the instruments that we sell are set up, adjusted, and checked by Andy and the musicians on staff at Fein Violins. Because all of us at Fein Violins are musicians ourselves, if any instrument does not meet our high standards, we simply will not sell it.
The handmade violins, violas, and cellos that we sell at Fein Violins are each set up with professional-quality bridges and strings. Every instrument we sell includes a bow, a case, a one year warranty, and 100% trade-in value. We want you to be absolutely, fully satisfied with your instrument purchase, and we are confident that you'll find your instrument has a great sound and great value. If, for any reason, you are not completely happy with your instrument, we would be more than happy to make any necessary adjustments to its set-up so that it perfectly suits your needs as a musician. Or, if you prefer, you always have ten days after the date on which you receive your instrument to return it and receive a full refund - we'll even cover the cost of return shipping! (For more information, please see our Return Policy)
We feature handmade violins, violas, and cellos made in our partner violin shop, Atelier Cremone, a consortium of French and Italian luthiers. We also offer handmade violins, violas, and cellos by the makers Francois Costa and D. Albert, both of Markneukirchen, Germany. All of these fine violins, violas, and cellos are made exclusively for Fein Violins, using our exact specifications regarding wood age, grain structure, measurements, and varnish formula. Our handmade stringed instruments are unique, available exclusively through Fein Violins. Additionally, we are continuously in the process of acquiring and restoring fine, older instruments, and our current selection of older handmade violins, violas, and cellos are included within the instrument pages:

A few words from our violin maker, Andy Fein:
Thanks for visiting our online violin shop. As the number of visitors to our online violin store continues to grow, I want to thank everyone who has made our website a premier destination for fine violins, violas, cellos, and fine wood music stands. I have been the owner and violin maker here, since I started the business in 1982. I have worked and trained with some of the finest violin makers and restorers all over the world. Before that, I served my violin making apprenticeship at the Chicago School of Violin Making and completed a B.A. in music from Wesleyan University, in Connecticut.
Despite the activity on our website and in our violin shop, we are still a small business with a personal approach to each and every stringed instrument that we sell. Every handmade violin, viola, and cello that goes through our shop is set up and finished by me.
Every stringed instrument from our shop is played by a professional musician, and then checked and adjusted for tone quality. We ship your handmade violin, viola, or cello to you adjusted to your taste; set up and ready to play as soon as you open the case. I hope you enjoy browsing our website. If you have any questions, please email or call me. I'd be happy to help you!
~ Andy Fein |
