      Andrew Fein, the luthier and owner, has 25 years experience in his field. All the instruments that we sell are set up, adjusted and checked by Andy and the musicians on our staff. If the instrument does not meet our requirements, we don't sell it.  Our Instruments are set up with professional quality bridges and strings. Every Instrument in our shop includes a bow and case, a 100% trade up value, and a 1 year warranty.  We want you to be absolutely, fully satisfied with your purchase.  We are confident you'll find your instrument to be great sounding and a great value.  You always have 10 days after the date you receive the instrument to return it and receive a full refund and we will arrange for return shipping at no cost to you.
      We feature instruments made in our partner shop the Rigidio Riva workshop in Sardinia, Italy.  We also offer instruments by the makers Francois Costa and D. Albert from Markneukirchen, Germany.  All of these instruments are made for us using our specifications regarding wood age, grain structure, measurements, and varnish formula. Our instruments are unique and are available exclusively through us. 
We are also constantly in the process of acquiring and restoring fine, older instruments. Our current selections of older instruments are included in the instrument web pages.

    I have been the owner and violin maker here since I started the business in 1982.  I have worked and trained with some of the finest makers and restorers all over the world.  Before that, I served my apprenticeship at the Chicago School of Violin Making and completed a B.A. in music from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
    Despite the activity on our site and in our shop, we are still a small business with a personal approach to every instrument.  Every instrument that goes through our shop is set up and finished by myself.  Every instrument from our shop is played by a professional musician, and then checked and adjusted for tone quality.  We ship them to you adjusted to your taste, set up and ready to play as soon as you open the case.
